My name is James B. Hunt. I am not the former governor of North Carolina. He's a different guy. I'm also
not a race car driver, an author of medical books, or the head of a trucking company. I'm sure they're all fine men, and hope to one day meet them. But they are not me. As far as I know, we have only our name in common.
I was born on June 17, 1972, in Southern California. I spent some time as a kid in Texas before finally migrating to Phoenix, Arizona. I'm currently residing in East Mesa.
I am an artist, as you've likely already gathered. I'm probably best known for hiding my paintings around the Greater Phoenix area and then posting clues for those who are interested in collecting them to study. This practice began as something just to keep me interested in showing my work in public forums. It grew into a fun little game and helped develop a unique bond between artist and collector that to my knowledge no other painter is fortunate enough to share. I'm immensely grateful for this sort of interaction. Anybody interested in participating in my Art Hunts should contact me.
I'm a founding member of the audiovisual collaborative effort known as CSOTYS. You can find out more about us at
CSOTYS.com.
I have no idea what I should say about myself other than what I've already told you. Should I list my hobbies and interests? I guess I'll do that.
I'm a big fan of Apocalyptic Neofolk with militaristic themes and influences, like Death in June, Current 93, Boyd Rice, Der Blutharsch, Strength Through Joy, Sol Invictus, The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud, and so on. I'm also a fan of early Industrial music, and consider Genesis P-Orridge a major influence on my life and my work.
I play the flute. I'm very interested in radio waves. I spend a lot of my free time building portable shortwave antennas and taking them out into fields so that I can monitor unusual radio activity and record it for use in future projects. I also collect rocks and fossils.
